About Dr. Schmitz
Martha Schmitz, MD, is a board-certified gynecologist and obstetrician at Austin Springs Women's Health. She has been serving patients in the Austin, Texas, area since 1994. Dr. Schmitz earned her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University. She received her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston before completing her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.
At Austin Springs Women's Health, Dr. Schmitz provides a comprehensive assessment of each patient’s health issue and related conditions. For patients who need surgery, she ensures each patient understands their treatment options and highly values patient communication in order to maximize their comfort and produce the best results.
A fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Schmitz is also a member of the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, and Travis County Medical Society. To better serve more patients, she is fluent in English and Spanish and speaks conversational French.
When she’s not practicing medicine, Dr. Schmitz enjoys spending time with two children, Nicolas and Lila. In her free time, she loves to swim, snorkel, eat at local restaurants, and explore the outdoors.
